The Andrews Labor Government is investing in regional tourism with funding for new accommodation suites at Mt Duneed Estate in Greater Geelong.
Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Martin Pakula today announced $260,000 from the Labor Government’s Regional Tourism Investment Fund will go towards building eight luxury pods at the winery, creating new jobs and drawing more visitors to the region.
The boutique one-bedroom spaces will be nestled amongst the Estate’s famous vineyard, featuring a modern bathroom and balcony, boasting scenic views.
The luxury accommodation will boost tourism to the Greater Geelong region with iconic winery known for hosting a range of events from, weddings, concerts by international artists and the popular music festival A Day On The Green.
Work on the accommodation is due to begin this year and finish mid 2023 supporting five jobs during construction and a further two once complete.
The Government’s Regional Tourism Investment Fund is helping entice more visitors to Victoria’s regions, driving private investment and accelerating the recovery of the tourism sector.
