Forty employers have pledged more than 265 jobs under a new Andrews Labor Government initiative to help Victorians facing barriers to securing a job find work.

Minister for Industry and Employment Ben Carroll visited Coleman Rail in Port Melbourne today to mark the start of the Jobs Victoria JobsBank program, which will provide intensive, tailored support to jobseekers.

The Labor Government has allocated $5 million to the program which will be delivered by 14 Jobs Victoria partners.

Organisations like Bombardier, AGL and Linfox have already pledged their support, adding to the list of employers that have committed to hiring jobseekers as part of the broader $68 million Jobs Victoria initiative.

Coleman Rail has also pledged support for five roles for JobsBank participants.

Mr Carroll also met with long-term jobseekers who are being helped by Jobs Victoria to become job-ready and Jobs Victoria employers and partners, including RAW Recruitment, Qualify and BDK Labour Hire.

These participants are among thousands of Victorians who have been provided with the tailored support offered by Jobs Victoria and its partners – support that helps long-term jobseekers find work.

Across the suite of Jobs Victoria programs, which include cadetships, traineeships and an employment network, more than 5200 participants have been helped into work.
