Two Victorian projects are among 22 projects shortlisted for funding by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) under its $100 million Large-scale Solar Photovoltaic program.
Minister for Energy and Resources Lily D’Ambrosio congratulated Syncline Energy and Gannawarra Solar Farm, both in Victoria’s north west, on being selected from 77 expressions of interest.
Syncline Energy’s project, near Robinvale, will sell power to large energy users seeking to improve their environmental performance.
Solar Choice and Edify Energy’s Gannawarra Solar Farm project, near Kerang, is in advanced stages of development and already has planning approval.
The Andrews Labor Government will work with both companies to complete full applications, due with ARENA by 15 June 2016.
The Labor Government is committed to helping Victorian communities and businesses develop projects that create jobs and support a clean energy future.
The Government launched the $20 million New Energy Jobs Fund in December 2015 and is working with the Clean Energy Finance Corporation and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency to identify programs and initiatives that could support projects through the Fund.
