The Andrews Labor Government today released the regional public transport Consultation Report, which provides a snapshot of feedback from recent Regional Network Development Plan consultation sessions across Victoria.
Members of the Regional Transport Advisory Group, which has driven community engagement throughout the consultation process, presented the Report to Minister for Public Transport Jacinta Allan this week at Parliament.
The Conversation Report summarises nearly 15,000 pieces of feedback received between June and September this year, through workshops, discussion forums, surveys and submissions.
The Report highlights the value people place on existing services, and provides a range of proposals for improving regional public transport, including:
- More frequent bus and train services
- Targeted services to get people where they need to go
- Better use of assets like school buses
- Services that start earlier and finish later
- Options for making public transport more comfortable, productive and accessible
This critical feedback will shape the development of the RNDP, Victoria’s first ever long-term strategy for better regional public transport.
The overarching Consultation Report, as well as individual Conversation Summaries for each region, are available at ptv.vic.gov.au/getinvolved or by calling the PTV call centre on 1800 800 007 (6.00am- midnight).
