The Andrews Labor Government is providing a $15,000 funding boost to support the Sky Racing Topgun greyhound race at The Meadows tonight.

The funding is part of the Labor Government’s Victorian Racing Industry Fund Raceday Attraction Program. The Melbourne Greyhound Racing Association is also providing almost $60,000 towards the event.

The $215,000 feature race will include some of the best greyhounds in Australia and will kick off at 6pm. Racegoers  attending the Cox Plate at Moonee Valley today are also being encouraged to continue their racing experience by heading to The Meadows for a night of high class greyhound racing.

Free return bus services will be provided for groups of 10 patrons who make a prior booking in the Temlee Dining Room. Groups will also have an opportunity to have a race named in their honour, and to be photographed with the winning dog.

There will be affordable and relaxed dining options available in the Beers, Barks and Bets Bar. The downstairs deck area will also be transformed into a special event bar.

The greyhound racing industry in Victoria employs around 3000 people and contributes $315 million annually to the state's economy.
