Sandringham College’s Discovery Centre – the first building completed under the school’s master plan – is now open and ready for students to use.

Minister for Education James Merlino today visited the College to open the new learning facility and meet students and staff.

The 2015-16 Victorian Budget provided the school with an additional $2 million to be spent on rebuilding classrooms and other facilities at the College’s Sandringham (Years 7-10) and Senior campuses.

Sandringham College offers a wide range of academic, artistic and sporting opportunities and reflects the Andrews Labor Government’s vision that every student should be given the greatest opportunity to achieve success.

The Labor Government is investing billions of dollars to make Victoria the Education State. The Budget invests almost $4 billion over four years – representing the single biggest boost to education funding in Victoria’s history.

This includes a record $730 million investment that will ensure every community has access to a great local school, and every child gets the chance to succeed.

An extensive and revitalised school building program is underway and scores of Victorian schools will be renovated, refurbished, maintained and rebuilt to improve the physical standard of schools and classrooms.
