Michel Masson has given notice to the Board of Infrastructure Victoria, the State’s independent advisory body on infrastructure development, of his resignation as Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Masson was appointed as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of Infrastructure Victoria in 2016 and has developed the organisation into an important and independent voice on a wide range of infrastructure issues.

During Mr Masson‘s time as chief executive officer, Infrastructure Victoria has outlined ways in which Victoria can make the most of existing infrastructure, while also ensuring new infrastructure delivers maximum value.

In August this year, Infrastructure Victoria completed the 2021-2051 Infrastructure Strategy, the second of two 30-year strategies completed under Mr Masson‘s stewardship. The Strategy presents a vision for a thriving, inclusive and sustainable Victoria across the next 30 years, informed by innovative land use and transport modelling.

Infrastructure Victoria has provided important advice on a range of issues including zero emissions vehicles, recycling infrastructure, port capacity, gas infrastructure and population-serving infrastructure for the Suburban Rail Loop.

Mr Masson has overseen Infrastructure Victoria’s invaluable support and guidance to the Victorian Government through the six years of his tenure.

Mr Masson will continue as CEO until 4 November 2021.

A process will be undertaken to recruit a new CEO in due course.
