The Allan Labor Government is delivering Victorian students the first-class facilities they deserve, supporting better learning outcomes with upgrades and maintenance rolling out to schools across the state.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll today congratulated the 58 successful schools that will share in $25 million for a range of small-scale refurbishments, such as bathroom, playground, and fencing repairs, through the 2024/25 round of the Labor Government’s Capital Works Fund.

Coburg North Primary School will receive $499,618 to refurbish the school's student toilets to make them more pleasant and improve cleanliness and hygiene.

Mirboo North Primary School will be granted $199,876 to install new perimeter fencing to make the grounds safer for students, staff and visitors.

Beaufort Primary School will receive $497,696 to build a cover for the school’s basketball courts, providing shade and rain cover so students can use the courts in all weathers.

Rowville Primary School will use their $49,887 grant to build a new Indigenous outdoor learning space, including a yarning circle, seating and indigenous plants.

The inclusion stream of the Capital Works Fund targets projects which can help make a difference in meeting the educational and social needs of all students, including those with disabilities or additional requirements. This covers inclusive playgrounds as well as inclusive indoor and outdoor learning areas.

Drysdale Primary School’s $299,741 grant will help build an inclusive playground for students.

The Labor Government has invested $16.9 billion over the past 10 years to build new schools and deliver more than 2,000 school upgrades − supporting more than 26,000 jobs in construction and associated industries. We are getting on with the job of building new schools as we gear up to open 100 new schools by 2026.

The Victorian School Building Authority will work with successful schools from early 2025 to deliver their projects.

All construction is set to be finished by the end of May 2026.
