Geelong’s waterfront will come alive today, with the official Team Presentations for the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race taking place in Steampacket Gardens.
Premier Daniel Andrews and Minister for Tourism and Major Events, John Eren, kicked off the ceremony, officially presenting the teams and riders on stage to the public in one of cycling’s great traditions.
All riders and teams will be at the Team Presentation, providing a unique opportunity for cycling fans and Geelong locals to hear from the riders themselves.
Steampacket Gardens has been transformed into a mini-cycling village where fans can watch their favourite riders prepare, buy official event merchandise, and watch the men’s race on the big screen on Sunday.
The weekend festival of cycling in Geelong and the Surf Coast will continue on Saturday, with the sold out Momentum Energy People’s Ride starting at 7am, followed by the women’s race at 11.30am.
Sunday sees the men’s race, and Cadel’s final professional race, start on Geelong Waterfront at 11.20am.
