Planning Work To Begin At Valkstone Primary School

Planning will now get underway at Valkstone Primary School following the announcement that it is one of 35 schools to share in a $12 million school planning fund.

Acting Premier and Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Bentleigh Nick Staikos today visited Valkstone Primary School in Bentleigh East to meet students and staff, and discuss plans for upgrading the school’s buildings.

Altogether, the Victorian Budget 2016/17 invests a record $1.1 billion in school infrastructure.

$287.4 million of this is to plan, acquire land for and build 23 new schools.

$375 million will go to upgrading 147 schools across the state, including 20 specialist schools. It also includes $200 million to maintain schools.
