The Andrews Labor Government today announced $2 million to support community legal centres across the state to help disadvantaged Victorians.
The grants will support the extension of existing integrated partnerships, or the delivery of integrated services between legal centres and other service providers. Integrated services give vulnerable members of the community better access to legal and social services.
The grants will be administered by the Federation of Community Legal Centres, with applications assessed by an independent evaluation panel set up by the organisation.
Integrated services such as the Health Justice Partnerships work by placing lawyers at health services to help vulnerable clients experiencing legal difficulties.
The new grants will be delivered in addition to the $1.6 million funding package announced by the Labor Government today to support eight Health Justice Partnerships across Victoria.
