Well known Victorian producer Luv-a-Duck will move into the Ballarat West Employment Zone (BWEZ), with plans to invest $20 million in new business operations creating 30 jobs.

The new Ballarat facility will produce retail ready duck meat products including flavoured pre-roasted cuts, expanding on the company’s existing operations in Nhill.

The expansion into Ballarat supports the company’s continued growth and helps to secure the employment base in Nhill, where Luv-a-Duck is the town’s biggest employer.

Nhill will continue to be the centre of the company’s primary processing operations with more than $5 million in capital to be added over the next 18 months.

Luv-a-Duck’s expanded footprint in Ballarat will further cement its business as a proud Western Victorian producer.

BWEZ is a $30 million joint initiative between the Andrews Labor Government and the City of Ballarat to support the region’s economic growth over the next 20 years.

The project is delivering about 400 hectares of industrial land to attract large-scale businesses to Ballarat, which will build on the region’s existing strengths and help boost the local economy.

BWEZ is fast becoming a high quality industrial estate for a range of manufacturing, agribusiness, construction, freight and logistics and research and development uses.

It has been designed to enhance business productivity, with a freight hub on site, access for high productivity freight vehicles, top quality infrastructure, and close access to Ballarat airport.
