Football fans across Melbourne will have more options to witness history in the making, with three live sites to screen the Socceroo’s World Cup match against Argentina on Sunday morning.

Melbourne’s iconic Fed Square will have the match on the big screen, while AAMI Park and Victoria Golf Club in Cheltenham will also be official live sites for fans to revel in the atmosphere as the Socceroos’ enter knock-out rounds in Qatar.

Gates at AAMI Park will be open from 5.00am, free of charge, with fans able to watch the game on big screens from the stadium’s grandstand seats.

In a huge win for families, the 2022 ISPS Handa Australian Open golf tournament will screen the game on its village big screen, while offering food, beverage, seating and grassy areas ready for fans. Gates at Victoria Golf Club will open at 5.30am

The first 500 people through the gate will enter free of charge and can stay on for the entire day, while the daily ticket fee of $33 will apply to all further entries. Children under 17 years enter free of charge all day.

The Andrews Labor Government is delivering additional venues after thousands of football fans gathered at Fed Square in the early hours of Thursday morning to watch the Socceroos history-making win over Denmark – a moment that put Melbourne on the global football stage.

With thousands more now expected to gather for Sunday’s game, we’re making sure as many people as possible can enjoy the action and encourage all fans, in all places, to celebrate in a safe and respectful way.

The venues will work closely with Victoria Police and others to ensure the viewing experience safe and enjoyable.

Victoria's landmark buildings will be lit up in green and gold from 8pm on Saturday until dawn Sunday, with the Round of 16 match played at 6.00am (Melbourne time) Sunday 4 December.
