Minister for Education, James Merlino, today officially opened the sixth campus of Sirius College, in Dallas.
The first official campus of the non-denominational college opened in 1997 with 28 students.
The college now has more than 2300 students from 25 different ethnic and religious backgrounds across its six campuses.
The Dallas Campus opened at the start of this year.
The 2015-16 Victorian Budget invests almost $4 billion in Victoria’s education and skills system – representing the single biggest boost to education funding in Victoria’s history.
It includes a $120 million grants program to build and upgrade Catholic and Independent schools across the state, matching dollar-for-dollar the non-government sector’s contribution. Applications will open later this year.
The Budget also includes $180 million for programs that will help families cover the extra costs of education, like camps, excursions and uniforms, so no child misses out.
