Fashion Duo PAGEANT Crowned National Design Winners

Victorian design duo Amanda Cumming and Kate Reynolds, collectively known as PAGEANT, have won the 2015 Tiffany & Co National Designer Award, presented as part of the 2015 Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival.

The National Designer Award recognises emerging designers whose work excels in creativity and quality and who show potential for growth.

Finalists in 2015 included labels búl and VERNER, designers Beth and Tessa MacGraw – sisters behind the label macgraw – and Emma Mulholland for her self-titled label.

The award comes with prizes worth more than $100,000, including business and creative mentoring and a retail opportunity with Westfield.

Prizes will help the winner to take the next step in their design career. Previous winners include Toni Maticevski, Romance Was Born, Yeojin Bae and last year’s winners, Melbourne duo STRATEAS.CARLUCCI.

The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, which opened on Saturday, is an annual celebration of fashion, design, business and creative endeavour.

Proudly supported by the Andrews Labor Government, the festival features a public runway program, a cultural program and a series of business events.
