Albins Performance Transmissions will be able to expand its operation creating 20 new jobs, thanks to support from the Andrews Labor Government.

It comes on top of funding announced last week by the Labor Government, bringing the total number of new jobs at the iconic Ballarat manufacturer to 45.

In Ballarat today, Minister for Regional Development Jaala Pulford visited Albins’ manufacturing facility with Member for Wendouree Sharon Knight to hear how the expansion project will support the company’s growth in the defence, aerospace, and rail sectors.

Funded as part of the Labor Government’s Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund, the upgrade will provide additional space for warehousing, administration, materials handling and extra equipment.

The upgrade will allow Albins to double their output and increase their export market potential.

Based in Ballarat, Albins has a 37 year history of manufacturing motorsport drivetrain components, and over the last decade has grown to become the largest manufacturer of high performance transmission in the southern hemisphere.

Ballarat has a long and proud history of manufacturing, with more than 4,600 people employed across more than 300 businesses. Since 2014, an extra 12,400 jobs have been created across all Ballarat industries.

Today’s news follows the Labor Government’s announcement last week that Albins Performance Transmissions had received a grant under the Future Industries Manufacturing Program.

The Government is getting on with growing jobs, building infrastructure and strengthening communities throughout regional Victoria.
