The Allan Labor Government is seeking a development partner to build hundreds of homes on the final parcel of land within the Fitzroy Gasworks precinct.
Minister for Development Victoria and Precincts Harriet Shing today announced the Expression of Interest (EOI) process is now open for developers to deliver the remaining stage of the precinct – which is set to build approximately 350 more homes, with 20 per cent of the new builds slated to be affordable.
The final parcel (Parcel A) will be delivered in partnership with the private sector and will contribute to approximately 30 per cent of the total housing across the Fitzroy Gasworks precinct – which will be home to approximately 1,200 homes.
The EOI campaign is the first step in a two-stage market process and will remain open until Thursday, 17 April, followed by a closed tender via a Request for Proposal (RFP) for shortlisted bidders.
Last year, Inner North Collective Joint Venture (INC JV) was announced as the development partner for Parcels B and C, which will deliver around 70 per cent of the planned homes at Fitzroy Gasworks precinct.
Development Victoria will continue to partner with government, industry and communities to deliver transformative projects like the iconic Fitzroy Gasworks.
Last year the Labor Government completed the Bundha Sports Centre at the Fitzroy Gasworks site, boosting access to sports facilities for the inner north.
The Government has already delivered the Wurun Senior Campus, which opened to students in early 2022.
