The Allan Labor Government is making sure more residents in Sunbury can get the skills they need for the job they want, with TAFE courses now offered through the Hume Global Learning Centre in Sunbury.

Member for Sunbury Josh Bull represented the Minister for Skills and TAFE Gayle Tierney today to announce that Kangan Institute is offering TAFE courses at the Centre in Sunbury until the new Bendigo Kangan TAFE campus opens in the north-west Melbourne suburb in 2028.

The three courses available are the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) Certificate I in EAL (Access) and Certificate II in EAL (Access).

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is the core qualification required to be a vocational trainer, and thanks to the Labor Government’s Free TAFE program, this course is free to ensure more Victorians can get their start in this important sector.

As the chosen TAFE provider to build and operate the new campus in Sunbury, Kangan Institute will bolster key skills priorities in construction and health training across Sunbury.

The new campus is being delivered through the Labor Government’s Building Better TAFE Fund which is making sure students have the best training facilities closer to home.

The Fund is also supporting a new Kangan Institute campus in Melton, a Centre of Excellence for Inclusion in Disability, Health and Community Support at the Gordon TAFE in Geelong and upgrades to the Bendigo TAFE's Community Health and Learning Hub at Dhelkaya Health in Castlemaine.

The Labor Government continues to support vocational training and TAFE learning across the state. The 2024/25 Victorian Budget is investing $555 million in our TAFE network to enable even more Victorians to upskill into meaningful, well-paid careers.
