The creator of one of the world’s most innovative business conferences has established its Asia Pacific headquarters in Melbourne creating 100 jobs between now and 2020.

Founded by Cirque Du Soleil and Sid Lee, the Montreal based company aims to encourage businesses to think differently about the way they operate no matter whether they are a brand new startup or a firmly established billion-dollar company.

The company’s presence in Victoria will strengthen the state’s reputation as Australia’s innovation capital and encourage disruption and innovative thinking to solve global and local economic and social problems.

In October, Melbourne will also host the first international C2 flagship event where around 2,750 participants will have the opportunity to hear from some of the world’s most innovative minds including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Emergent CEO Holly Ransom and INK founder Lakshmi Pratury.

The C2 experience will be brought to life through immersive workshops, deep-dive masterclasses, signature labs, artistic performances and curated brain dates.

In the Victorian Budget 2018/19, handed down by Treasurer Tim Pallas yesterday, the Andrews Labor Government committed an additional $55 million to its Investment Attraction and Assistance Program (IAAP).

IAAP funds are used to create jobs for Victorians by facilitating investment in Victoria by overseas companies or helping local companies to expand.

The 2018 C2 Conference will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 17-19, for more information visit c2melbourne.com.
