The Andrews Labor Government is calling on Victoria’s creative community to pitch ideas for ambitious, ground-breaking projects that will boost Victoria’s reputation as the creative state.

Minister for Creative Industries Martin Foley today opened applications for the Creative State Commissions program for organisations, studios, companies and collectives working in any creative field.

The program responds to calls from the creative industry for a program to commission works on a scale beyond the capacity of existing Creative Victoria programs.

It will provide between five and 10 applicants with up to $20,000 to develop their concepts and complete a feasibility study on their proposal.

In the second stage, one to three projects will be selected to receive between $300,000 and $1 million to bring their creative ambitions to life.

The program seeks applications for ambitious projects that break new ground, generate widespread community engagement, attract tourism and have the potential to create a lasting legacy in Victoria.

Projects can involve one or more creative forms and may be delivered through local, national or international partnerships. Commissioned projects can be virtual, temporary or permanent.

Priority will be given to projects that reflect the culture, diversity or geography of Victoria.

Applications will close at 5pm, 8 February 2018. To find out more visit creative.vic.gov.au
