Minister for Public Transport Jacinta Allan and PTV Board Chairman Board Patricia Faulkner today announced the appointment of Jeroen Weimar as Public Transport Victoria’s Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Weimar will lead the organisation as it continues to deliver the Andrews Labor Government’s major infrastructure projects including the Metro Tunnel, the removal of 50 dangerous and congested level crossings and establishing Transport for Victoria.
Mr Weimar has been acting PTV CEO since January 2016 and was previously PTV’s Executive Director of Performance and Contract Management.
In this role, he was responsible for managing the franchise agreements and operating contracts for Metro, Yarra Trams, V/Line and all bus contracts across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Before joining PTV, Mr Weimar was Chief Operating Officer at First Group plc, where he was responsible for the operation of more than 6,000 buses and 17,000 staff operating across the UK and the turnaround of more than 40 regional bus businesses.
With more than 20 years’ experience in transport, Mr Weimar has also worked at Serco Group as the Managing Director for UK Transport and was the Chief Operating Officer, Surface Transport at Transport for London.
