Australia’s largest air conditioning manufacturer Seeley International is set to relocate across the Murray to Wodonga, creating more than 300 new Victorian jobs in the process, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Premier Daniel Andrews, Minister for Industry and Employment Wade Noonan and Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes today congratulated Seeley on its move, in a major boost for Wodonga and North-East Victoria.

In a move backed by the Labor Government’s Investment Attraction and Assistance Program and Australia’s lowest payroll tax rate, Albury based Seeley International has decided to make Victoria home and expand their operations.

The company plans to build a new manufacturing facility to support future growth and help supply heating and cooling systems to key markets in Melbourne and Sydney.

The project includes a research and development centre to drive new innovation and products, as Seeley’s look to grow their market share using the very best in technology and design. The existing Seeley workforce will be up-skilled at regional training facilities including the Wodonga Institute of TAFE, as they look to take on the world.

The move will see the creation of 205 new manufacturing jobs, including new jobs for specialist engineers at the research and development centre, with an additional 76 jobs created through the supply chain. Construction activity is expected to create a further 22 jobs.

Seeley exports to more than 120 countries with a network of sales offices in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and France. Victoria is Seeley’s single largest market, making up about 55 per cent of Australian sales.

Through the Labor Government’s Investment Attraction and Assistance Program – topped up by $90 million in the Victorian Budget 2017/18 – Victoria is working hard to attract businesses from across Australia and the world to invest in our state and boost local jobs.

Regional Victoria is also benefitting with the recent Budget, delivering the lowest payroll tax rate in Australia.
