The two people that will lead the delivery of Victoria’s largest transport infrastructure projects have been announced.
Evan Tattersall has been appointed CEO of Melbourne Metro Rail Authority and Kevin Devlin the CEO of the Level Crossing Removal Authority.
Both CEOs have decades of experience in the construction industry in the public and private sectors. Mr Tattersall has worked on a long list of significant projects in Victoria including the Craigieburn Electrification Project, Southern Cross Station redevelopment, Western Ring Road Project, the Multipurpose Venue Sports Stadium (Hisense Arena) and, most recently, the $4 billion Regional Rail Link project.
Mr Devlin’s career also includes senior positions with a raft of major projects, including Geelong Ring Road, Pakenham Bypass, Hallam Bypass, Middleborough Road Rail Grade Separation and the West Gate Bridge Strengthening Project. Most recently Mr Devlin held key positions at Baulderstone delivering major water projects, and as the Executive Project Director at the Linking Melbourne Authority.
Minister for Public Transport, Jacinta Allan, said the extensive experience of both executives would be invaluable in the planning and delivery of the multi-billion dollar projects that will transform Melbourne’s public transport system, reduce road congestion and create 8,000 jobs.
The Andrews Labor Government has fast-tracked $140 million into this year’s budget to get both projects started immediately.
